I took a plane trip to Arizona over the last few days and this was an awesome time to catch up on some much needed reading. These inspiring quotes help me every day.
It is incredible and awfully ironic how I get more reading done on a plane surrounded by people than sitting at my house with only four people.
But I digress….
My book of choice was Benjamin Hardy’s Slipstream Time Hacking. It was an awesome read and not too awful long. I strongly recommend it.
I can tell you that the book is about time management and personal self growth, but that is as far as I will go as you can get it free from his website which I gave you the link to in this same paragraph.
Again, I digress…
Whilst reading this awesome publication flying over this great America of ours, I ran into several great quotes from some well known people. I didn’t note the people, but I did copy the particular quote onto my tablet for further reference.
Some of them may sound familiar, some may not. But all struck a chord with me, so here I am sharing again.
May they have the same effect on you as they do on me…
There is no happiness…happiness is the way.
This one I remember is from the great Wayne Dyer, God rest his soul. I think of this quote as kind of a play on words but nevertheless eye-opening.
To works towards happiness is not the way things are supposed to be done for us as humans. To connect with our greatest selves, we need to experience the happiness within us and then live our lives.
This happiness is not the happiness within our thoughts although there hopefully is some happiness there. It is deeper inside of you. You could call it bliss.
This search for happiness within may not be (although I hope it is) an instant gratification experience for you, but to work on while ‘faking it till you make it’ is a very grand idea.
To waste our time is to waste ourselves
You must work for what you want and not expect things to come to you without some type of commitment and action on your part. The Universe does not reward procrastination and laziness.
Discover your passion and purpose and goals, write them down, and work towards them every day. Even a step in the right direction is more than none at all.
To accrue debt is to sell away our future time
This was a big idea in the slipstream book I read. To be in debt is to lose your hold on your future. Everyone wants to be financially independent and secure but our culture is not in tune with that at all.
I could go into reasons why that is not the case, but suffice to say you must find your place in life so you can dig out of the financial position you are in.
If you are young, do your best to live within your means. The best way to not get into debt is to stay out of it!! There are plenty of enticing offers out there to suck you in. It is YOUR job not to get sucked in.
If you are debt-free, I applaud you as I am not there myself. I have discovered my errors later in the game of life than I would have liked. But forward steps are being made to get my time back. I hope you are, too.
Begin with end in mind
Visualize your goals every day to be able to work towards them properly. There may be many adjustments along your journey. That is to be expected. But taking forward motion towards that goal is still paramount.
If you feel stuck, your Universe is begging you to change.
How do you feel about your life right now? Do you feel you are getting something accomplished? Do you feel like you are making forward motion in life?
Or are you listless, depressed and anxious?
So do something about it!!
Feelings to thoughts to actions. It’s a simple formula.
If you don’t like where you are, don’t be there anymore.
I could do a whole post on this subject….
Oh, wait a minute-I have. Many times.
Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better
The Universe is not going to make it easy on anybody if they feel they are truly worth it and meant to be something.
Do you feel like you are meant to be something?
We all are.
But if we are too busy listening to our thoughts then life will never be what we imagine.
You are not your thoughts. You are much bigger than them.
So you don’t have to wish you are better. On the contrary, you already are. You just haven’t realized it yet.
I would love your input. Enlighten me on your thoughts and share the post. It would be much appreciated.
