What The Bleep Do We Know: movie review

If you have not seen the movie “What the Bleep Do We Know?” and are at all interested in quantum physics and its role with your consciousness, I strongly recommend.

The movie was made in 2004 and then redone in 2006. It contains a documentary style that goes along with computer graphics and a story line with a photographer played by Marlee Matlin(anyone remember her?) and her emotional life after catching her husband cheating on her.  Her thoughts and experiences are the basis of the movie’s thesis about existential objects, quantum mechanics and physics and the human consciousness.

Although the movie has been ridiculed for its quantum mysticism,  I think that the interviews in this documentary type movie of real scientists of physics, chemistry, and engineering are incredibly intriguing.

Here is the trailer:

It also does a great job of explaining how the brain works. In a very comical way might I add.

You can find many, many videos on youtube about ‘What The Bleep Do We Know’ movie and one says it actually is the movie but did not seem like it.   You can actually stream it from this site for $10 as many times as you like it says. I cannot say for sure that is truth as I have not tried myself since I bought it I enjoyed it so much.  I can say that you can buy it from Amazon below. It being a 10 year old movie, you may have a hard time finding it at a store.

What the Bleep Do We Know!?

In conclusion, I recommend this movie to get a better view of what the Universe, quantum physics, your brain and your consciousness is all about and how they are tied together.

If you have seen the movie or have thoughts about it, leave your comments below. If you haven’t or know someone else who would enjoy it, please share. I do hope you got a good enough taste to be interested enough to check it out.  I know I enjoyed the movie.

  1. This movie sounds interesting. I have heard about theories that connect quantum mechanics to human consciousness before and it is very intriguing. Basically that your consciousness is stored in quantum energy states that can be preserved and even transported from one point to another…mind blowing stuff. I will add this one to my playlist for sure. Thanks for the review.

  2. Is quantum physics closely tied to the big bang theory? or am I completely off on this and should just watch this movie? I have the amazon fire stick I am sure I could watch for free tonight!

    1. Hello, Kurtis. I suppose you could say it was. Never really thought about it that way. I still suggest watching the movie. Thank you for the comments.

  3. Hello Brent, I did watch the movie ‘What The Bleep…’ a few years ago. It was considerable long well over an hour, if my memory serves me right 🙂 Quantum Physics is a tough one. But it just shows how little we do know about life and how it really works.

On the positive side, it highlights how we create our reality with our thoughts and feelings. And it is that part that excites me . It means we are responsible for more than we previously knew, and we can learn to do the impossible because we are equipped to do so. It helps us to see we have no more excuse
really, unless we choose to hold on to them. Thanks Brent.

  4. This certainly seems to be an enthralling movie that I am sure to watch in the not too distant future. Conscious awareness seems to be coming to the forefront these days so am definately interested in seeing this movie. thanks for the info

  5. Thanks Brent! Every time I come here, I learn something new. What The Bleep Do We Know looks like an incredible movie from the trailer. It has me interested. I will definitely watch it.
I love to see how our minds work.
    Keep it up!

    1. Well, i hope you do enjoy it, Seth. I have watched it several times. One of my favorites. There is a sequel I was not even aware of till I posted that one. Will see if I can find that one as well. Cheers and thanks for the comments,

  6. This sounds interesting, I think I would like to see it 🙂 Quick question- does it have any violence in it? What rating is it? G or PG? My Dad and I share a rental subscription and I could put in in queue but I always like to check up on this before I get a movie out because there are some things I can’t watch 🙁

    1. Okay I see that it is rated M but doesn’t say anything about violence 🙂 I also see that there is also a sequel “down the rabbit hole” have you seen that one too?

  7. This is awesome! I have been into quantum physics since I became aware of it back in 2011. I’ve actually been looking for videos to watch about the subject and this seems like a great movie to check out.

    Thanks for sharing!

    1. thanks for your comments, Amiel. I also suggest reading the book Self Aware Universe. Fascinating stuff. Its available thru my site, if you wish. There is a remake to that movie too.
