Here is a proven emotional health tip

So in my quest to continue to give you information on proven techniques to help people with their emotional issues, cure phobias, ora myriad of other things, I give you EFT Tapping. EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique.

EFT tapping originated in the West in the 80’s and was used as a non invasive technique to acupuncture. Using the some of the same points acupuncture does, you actually tap those designated areas which activate your meridians. there are said to be 14 points, but sometimes you see less. Points 1,3,4 and 8 mirror to the other side of your body as well.

These are the points that are used. Yes, they are the same for guys. There is a certain order they get tapped which is listed and a certain ‘dialogue’ which should be used when using the EFT method which I will go over shortly.

In the mean time, a little more history.

So as I said, with a history of acupuncture, Roger Callahan first used EFT successfully in the ’80’s by curing a woman’s fear of water. It actually started off as TFT(Thought Field Therapy) but was more streamlined into EFT which was a much more user friendly version.

Emotional freedom technique re-energizes and balances  your body’s meridian system clearing long held blockages in those meridians. It can dissipate negative emotions and can address physical challenges you may have, too.  Things like anger, stress, anxiety, fear and frustration can be curbed as well. sometimes immediately when shown how to do by a professional.

girls jump EFTI personally have had some progress with both Nick Ortner of the Tapping Solution who is holding the Summit I spoke of and then there is Brad Yates who I enjoy on youtube although he also has a website,

So the dialogue of how you speak while tapping is a bit different. You will understand when you hear it but it goes something like this:

  • First of all, I always start with what Brad Yates says which is
    “I am taking full responsibility for my own well being” when I begin to tap.
  • “Even though I have this _____________, I deeply and completely accept myself.”
    So you would put in the blank there whatever you are having issues with. It can be a headache, trying to quit smoking or alcohol, anger towards your mother or your mate, anxiety, fear of public speaking… the possibilities are endless, really. What is important here is the idea that you are acknowledging your issue and have self acceptance for it.

I suggest you go to Youtube or one of the sites I mentioned and watch…or actually follow along. That is what they are there for. When Brad and Nick does the tapping they purposely leave time in there along the demo for you to follow along. They both do great work and they are not even actually doctors!!

EFT tapping goes on the premise that ‘the cause of negative Emotions are just disruptions in the body’s energy system’ meaning your meridians. Many people have benefited from EFT tapping and it can help you, too!! To heal or optimize!!

  1. Thank you for writing this wonderful article about EFT! I used to use this technique to counteract my anxiety and it was tremendously helpful. I don’t know why I stopped–maybe I forgot. But this was a helpful reminder and I’m going to start using it again. I think it will help to reduce my stress levels and increase my confidence.

    I read about EFT but never understood what it was for. Now I have a better understanding.

    The diagram with the lovely lady showing the points on the face is really helpful.

    I never knew there was World Tapping Day!

    Can this be of use to help say someone who gets angry fast in road traffic? I get pissed of in traffic and when people drive badly but I think I take it too far!



  3. I’ve been using Eft(Gary) and faster Eft (Robert Smith’s version) for a few years now. I found faster eft more effective. Guess it depends on the person. It’s the reason I’m free of anxiety and depression today. I mention it In my upcoming post that vanished into thin air this weekend lol. Had to write it over. I’m going to share your post. In future I was going to do a more detailed post on my experience with tapping. Hope I get to it fast. lol

  4. Brent man, well done. Another great blog post. I dimly remember when I read about EFT the first time. It’s a bit of a divide amongst believers and researchers. Some want to believe that it’s working whereas research found major flaws in the technique.

    To me, it’s not something that I would spend time on.

  5. Hello Brent,
    I read your article about EFT and I must admit that I didn’t know anything about this technique. I am actually very anxious and I need to think about some therapy. I am a skeptical person and I don’t believe this works for everyone.

    Maybe it is something psychological and mental. Have felt any change in your mood or your life after using EFT? If yes, then I should start learning about it.

    1. It’s true that not al things work for all people, but you will not lose anything by trying. I have had some mood changes that occurred and there are a lot of people who will tell you the same.     Thank you for this insightful article.
    The subject that you’re involved with is a very important one, especially nowadays when the stress is everywhere.
    EFT Tapping sounds odd at first but then when you inform yourself a bit more in details it all makes sense.
    It is s curious how tapping at certain points on your body can revitalize your energy.
    How often this method should be applied?

    1. I am not sure for me although I have heard and read that some humans are more impressionable than others.
